About Atomic Swingcats Disco and Chris Pamplin

Atomic Swingcats Disco is a complete package including Music, lighting and DJ. We do not hire equipment without the DJ.
Chris Pamplin trading as Atomic Swingcats Mobile Disco has seven years experience as a DJ. He started DJ'ing as a hobby, working along side AJ's Big Band providing interval music, but soon became a popular choice for a wedding or party. Chris is not a part time DJ, he gave up his job at the Council to work full time at his own business. He works all over the county of Somerset and also in the surrounding counties of Dorset, Devon, Wiltshire, Hampshire and Avon. He has also traveled further afield to Gloucester, Berkshire, Cornwall, Brighton and London. Chris has several guises, As well as the smart dinner jacket look, Chris can also be seen as Captain Sensible or one of the Blues Brothers when performing 80's themed discos, or as a World War Two airman or sailor when working on 1940's projects. As well as disco Chris offers a bolt on Karaoke package which can be added for a minimal extra cost. Chris is known as the dancing DJ, he just can't keep still, he is the life and soul of the party.

Music styles

Most weddings and parties ask for a mix of music, I carry original CD's with music from the last 9 decades, 1920's to NOW. Every client is asked to provide a 20-30 track play list, then I mix in the rest. This format works very well. I fade one track into the next, I do not scratch.

For a 13th, 16th 18th or 21st birthday party I work closely with the client to provide bang up to date music from the Top 40 and R&B classics, depending on their tastes. That said I have done many 40th 50th, 60th and 80th birthday parties too!

For specialist themed party nights I cover War time Swing 1940's, Fifties, 50's Rock n Roll, Rockabilly and 50's R&B. Sixties pop, Seventies, 70's disco and rock, Eighties, 80's electro pop, Nineties, 90's pop, rock and rave, Noughties, 2000's Chart hits and R&B. I also cover Country and Western and Motown, Northern Soul Classics, house and club mixes, Ministry of Sound. See themed events for some ideas.
